Hey yall! (& yes I just put my southern twang into this) So last weekend (plus Thursday) was probably hands down the BEST weekend of my 20 years on this Earth! It's not just cuz it was my birthday, but cuz my friends are so amazing that they put so much effort into making it the best birthday ever. =) First, on Thursday I only had one class, which made it amazing, & so I got to chill for a little bit until my friend Felisha got out of class. Then, I went down to DSP to eat with her & she sneakily went to the P.O.D. (on campus grocery store for those of you who don't know) & bought me a Reese's Cup Pie (my favorite!) for my birthday. Then I got on facebook & saw that I had a ton of birthday messages on my wall, but the one that was one of the sweetest was that one of the leaders of Greeter Team tagged me in a post on our team page & wished me happy birthday. I went to Greeter Team later & they all told me happy birthday once they realized it was my birthday. Well after that we went to Cru, where I got a ton more people to wish me happy birthday. Then to top the night off, my Bible study got all of DSP (where we eat at) to sing me happy birthday & then they made me a card! The rest of the weekend was amazing too (even though I had no birthday extravaganzas on Friday) & I had 2 little birthday dinners, 1 at Taco Bell back home with some of my family, my best friend, another friend, & my ex/good friend that I've known since 4th grade, & then another at Steak N Shake by my college with my dad, grandparents, & 2 girls from my Bible study. All in all it was just an amazing weekend!
As for music, I wanted to introduce a very talented singer/songwriter from Dallas, TX with a kind heart & really freaking sweet red hair, Tanner Patrick! You may know him from the show Opening Act where he opened up for Brad Paisley.Even though Tanner is definitely a pop singer, he sings great with country songs too. He is a such a sweetheart & you can tell that he loves what he does cuz of the amout of work he puts into his songs & covers. He started out in a band called Disco Curtis, but then after everyone else went away to college Tanner started his solo career & changed his name from Tanner Howe to Tanner Patrick (Patrick is his middle name FYI). I actually became a fan of his the day he announced on stickam that he was gonna go solo with his music. He already has one song out, but if you can't get enough of his beautiful voice then check out his covers on Youtube (youtube.com/tannerpatrick). He also has some other sites worth checking out: Stickam, where he does a weekly live chat at 5 pm EST (stickam.com/tannerpatrick), Facebook (facebook.com/tannerpatrick), & Twitter (twitter.com/tannerpatrick). I think that's about all, but make sure you check out his newest cover of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" & his original song "Merry Go Round". He's super talented & seriously the nicest guy ever! Go check out his music & share it with all your friends. Okie dokie, that's all for this week! Don't forget to comment & let me know any artists you would like me to feature & make sure to share this with a friend!
Live for God & Love for Music!
